Frequently Asked Questions

I work with adults and couples navigating difficult family relationships, estrangement, relational and sexual trauma, attachment wounds, and relationship challenges. I also work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and PTSD.
My work is especially focused on how these experiences affect the way you see yourself and relate to the people around you. If you’re not sure whether what you’re experiencing is something I work with, reach out for a free consultation call.

I am in-network with Aetna insurance. Insurance coverage and eligibility can vary, so please reach out to confirm your specific benefits.
If I am not in-network with your insurance provider, I use Thrizer to verify your out-of-network benefits and help submit claims for reimbursement. Out-of-network coverage varies, so your eligibility for reimbursement and the amount you may receive will depend on your individual plan.

Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes.
Sometimes a little more time is helpful, especially for EMDR, so 90-minute sessions are available for self-pay clients and are prorated based on my standard fee.
Shorter 30-minute check-ins may also be available when they make sense for your needs.

Yes. I offer virtual therapy for individuals and couples throughout Texas. Sessions are held through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, so you can meet with me from the privacy of your own home.
For virtual sessions, all participants must be physically located in Texas at the time of the session.

You don’t have to know for sure before reaching out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation that gives us a chance to talk about what’s bringing you in, answer any questions you have, and see whether I might be a good fit for what you’re looking for. You can schedule your call here.
-
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. We’ll look at what’s been going on, what feels most important right now, and begin setting some initial goals for what you’re hoping will change.
I’ll ask questions to help guide us, but this isn’t an interview or an interrogation. You don’t need to have a plan before you walk in. We’ll talk about what our work together could look like and figure out a comfortable place to start.
-
I usually recommend starting with weekly or biweekly sessions. Meeting consistently helps us build momentum and dive into important topics without feeling like we’re starting over each session. As we make progress and things begin to shift, we can adjust the frequency to make sense for where you are.
Some clients may benefit from meeting more or less often depending on their needs, goals, and circumstances. We’ll figure out what works best together.
