Attachment and Romantic Relationships

Some of the hardest patterns to change are the ones that show up with the people we love most.

You might be here because…

  • You want closeness, but you find yourself pulling away the moment you get it.

  • You're always scanning for signs that someone's about to leave, even when nothing's wrong.

  • You keep choosing partners who feel familiar, even when familiar hasn't been good to you.

  • You shut down, over-explain, or go quiet during conflict, and aren't totally sure why.

  • You're tired of feeling "too much" or "not enough" in relationships, and want to understand where that comes from.

What we’ll explore

The way you learned to love and be loved early in life can follow you into your adult relationships in ways you don't always recognize. It can show up in who you're drawn to, how you handle conflict, how you ask for what you need, and what happens when you don't feel sure where you stand.

We’ll make sense of the moments that can feel hardest: the anxiety when a text goes unanswered, the urge to pull away when someone gets too close, or the feeling that you're always trying to figure out what you did wrong. You don't need to have a different past to have a different experience of love. We'll work toward more choice in how you respond, so you can feel more secure and more like yourself in the relationships that matter to you.

I draw from attachment-based, narrative, and other evidence-based approaches based on what feels most helpful for you. We’ll work at a pace that allows new patterns to become something you actually experience, not just something you understand.
